Swedish DSO Skellefteå Kraft is doubling its deployment of Heimdall Power's Neurons to enhance grid efficiency and manage renewable energy production.
We are happy to announce that Skellefteå Kraft is extending its collaboration with Heimdall Power through a newly signed contract. Following a successful initial deployment of Heimdall Power’s Neurons in the summer of 2023, we are now taking the next step in our cooperation.
The Swedish DSO is a leader in renewable energy initiatives, primarily through their extensive use of hydroelectric power and progressive investments in wind and solar energy projects. Anticipating potential bottlenecks on the lines this August due to an expected increase in wind production, Skellefteå Kraft is doubling its number of Heimdall Power’s physical Neurons, which will be placed on key power lines in their grid.
"We are satisfied with the solution from Heimdall that we installed last year, and we are looking forward to install more Neurons on other powerlines in order to optimize usage of our existing grid."
Patrik Lillbacka, Regional Network Manager at Skellefteå Kraft

The strategic placement of Heimdall Power’s Neurons on the existing grid, combined with AI and advanced data analytics, enables Skellefteå Kraft to analyze and predict transmission challenges associated with renewable energy production with unprecedented accuracy. The decision to deploy additional Neurons this summer is a testament to their innovative approach, ensuring the grid remains stable and efficient as power input varies with weather conditions. Heimdall Power is proud to continue the collaboration with Skellefteå Kraft.
Ann-Kristin Takle, Head of Sales at Heimdall Power, provided the following statement about the company’s latest expansion:
“We, of course, love welcoming new customers to the Heimdall Power community, but it is perhaps even more gratifying to see our existing customers returning to purchase more of our solutions. Skellefteå Kraft is a great, forward-leaning company to work with, and I look forward to continuing to build our already strong collaboration."
