The world’s leading grid optimization engine now extends to facilities and elements inside and outside the substation, providing Heimdall Power customers with a single platform to easily manage their ratings across the grid.

Facilities ratings and NERC FAC-008 compliance just got a lot easier.

From DISTRIBUTECH 2025, Heimdall Power just launched its eagerly anticipated Facilities Module, enabling utilities wroldwide to configure, view, and seamlessly integrate real-time ratings for all their high-voltage components with their existing Heimdall Power Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) and Ambient Adjusted Rating (AAR) solutions.

The Facilities Module, which was made available to Heimdall Power customers overnight, simplifies ratings operations and streamlines NERC FAC-008 compliance on a single, easy-to-use platform. Key features of the launch include:

  • Component ratings: The module supports new component types which can be rated individually using various methods.

  • Simple management: Easily view, search for, and edit facility ratings across components, and identify the most limiting component at-a-glance.

  • Seamless integration with DLR & AAR: The Facilities Module seamlessly integrates with existing Heimdall Power DLR and AAR solutions. Once a component rating is defined, the “Circuit Rating” will be automatically limited systemwide.

“This solution is the output of hundreds of customer conversations and our commitment to continuously deliver value,” explained Heimdall Power Chief Technology Officer Øyvind Teigen. “From powerlines to current transformers to everything in between, the Facilities Module will enable our customers to improve their rating management operations at scale.”

The Facilities Module is packaged with several other value-add updates including:

A redesigned grid monitoring page, which allows operators to customize the data they see and gain immediate efficiencies with powerful sorting and filtering mechanisms.

An improved default DLR solver, optimized for greater accuracy, particularly in challenging weather conditions.
