We at Heimdall Power are proud to announce that we are going to instrument the second longest fjordspan in the world for Sognekraft Nett.
The span in questions is crossing the longest of the Norwegian fjords, Sognefjorden, with a total length of 4900 meter. With the signing of this contract, the local grid company, Sognekraft Nett, will now instrument the span with multiple sensors from Heimdall Power.
This is done to make sure that this critical line is keeping the necessary distance to the water below, where big cruise ships are passing under the line on a regular basis. With the implementation of the software and sensors from Heimdall Power, Sognekraft Nett will now be notified if the distance to the fjord reach a critical level.
Further, Sognekraft Nett will also use the Heimdall Power Neurons to monitor the line current, temperature and vibrations to enhance their operations and overall safety.
Project engineer at Heimdall Power, Dag Drejer is very satisfied about getting this new customer onboard. “This is a truly unique project, where great technology meets spectacular nature. A nature we at Heimdall Power are striving to protect for future generations. We are really looking forward to start working with Sognekraft Nett, after having a lot of good dialouges with them in recent times.”
