Austrian DSO to use Heimdall Power's solution to address ice build-up on power lines and enhance public safety.

Heimdall Power is pleased to announce a new contract with Salzburg Netz. This is Heimdall Power’s fourth customer in the country, following previous collaborations with Netz Niederösterreich (NNÖ), Austrian Power Grid (APG), and Tinetz. The new contract highlights the growing importance of advanced monitoring systems in ensuring public safety and underscores Heimdall Power and Salzburg Netz’s commitment to innovative solutions in power grid management.

The Austrian DSO will implement Heimdall Power’s HEALTH solution, utilizing its capabilities for ice monitoring. The contract involves the installation of multiple Heimdall Neurons on critical lines, including two sections in a highly trafficked ski resort. The area in question experience significant ice load challenges in the winter season, potentially posing risks to public safety.

"We are excited to welcome Salzburg Netz as a new Heimdall Power customer, and I am really looking forward to collaborating with them on this important project. We enjoy helping our customers in improving their power grids around the world, and this is a great example of how our technology is also contributing to the safety and well-being of the public."

Salzburg Netz aims to monitor and mitigate these risks effectively by deploying Heimdall Power’s cutting-edge sensor technology. The real-time data derived from the Neurons will enable proactive management and rapid response to any clearance issues, enhancing safety for all ski-goers and maintaining the reliability of the energy infrastructure.

Heimdall Power’s sensors are renowned for their durability and accuracy, making them ideal for harsh weather conditions and critical infrastructure monitoring. The sensors provide precise and timely data, without requiring any maintenance, which is essential for maintaining operational efficiency and safety in challenging environments like ski resorts.
