Austrian TSO adds Virtual Neurons and more Physical Neurons to their grid.
We are happy to announce that we are further strengthening our collaboration with Austrian Power Grid (APG), as we have just signed a contract for the deployment of a bunch of our unique Virtual Neurons.
APG has been a Heimdall Power customer since 2021. With this new project, APG will shortly also do capacity monitoring with Heimdall Power, as they will deploy Virtual Neurons to perform our Dynamic Line Rating solution, Heimdall DLR, in a critical part of their transmission grid.

As a part of this extended collaboration, APG will also add more Physical Neurons through the existing framework agreement between the two parties. These Physical Neurons will be used in connection with the Virtual Neurons, thereby providing optimal learning conditions for the machine learning algorithms of the Virtual Neurons.

Senior Growth Manager at Heimdall Power, Gerhard Biedenbach, comments the new project in the following manner:
“Following our recent deal with Energienetze Offenbach, I am excited to see that more and more customers are now adopting the powers of our Virtual Neurons. Deploying additional physical sensor units in the same area provides a foundation for true hybrid-deployment of our technologies, where we are fully extracting the combined strengths of both physical and virtual sensor units in the same grid area.“
